Cathedral Park site secures planning permission

After a very lengthy wait, Wells will finally have a brand new 14 acre development site for business premises in Gate Lane.

The Gate Lane site, known as Cathedral Park, will offer 14 acres of mixed uses, office, industrial and warehousing.  Owners Nikal Ltd are delighted that the building work can now commence.

Late last year, property developer Nikal Limited secured the future of the 14 acre mixed use development site following the buy-out of its former joint venture partner David McLean. Development Director at Nikal, Jonny Wrigley, commented:  “This is a significant project for Wells".

The first stage of the development will be a brand new HQ for Flourish Homes.

Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is acting on behalf of Nikal Limited as letting and sales agent for the scheme.

Tom Gibbons, Director at LSH’s Bristol office, said:  “It is very positive news that Mendip have agreed to be the first major occupier on the site as they are a successful and expanding local business – exactly the type of occupier we are targeting. Fortunately they recognise the quality of the scheme we are proposing and have trust in the developer’s ability to deliver such a high quality product.”

Work is due to start on the infrastructure and office building next month
